Let’s open our eyes to the importance of vision health this January during National Glaucoma Awareness Month. More and more research shows that visual impairment is associated with greater cognitive decline among older adults. However, additional studies are needed to help us understand what drives this relationship. Glaucoma affects millions worldwide, silently stealing sight and often going undetected until irreversible damage occurs. By spreading awareness, understanding the risk factors, and encouraging regular eye exams, we can catch glaucoma early and ensure timely treatment.
