Senior Olympics: Archery

Format: The 900-round will be used for all competitions. 90 arrows will be shot as follows:

  • 30 arrows from 60 yards (5 ends of 6 arrows)
  • 30 arrows from 50 yards (5 ends of 6 arrows)
  • 30 arrows from 40 yards (5 ends of 6 arrows)
  • Each end of 6 arrows will be shot with 50 seconds allowed for each arrow for a total of 300 seconds. The archers will rotate shooting order after each end of 6 arrows.

Scoring: Regulation 122cm (48”) 5-color target face will be used. Scoring values: gold (10-9), red (8-7), blue (6-5), black (4-3), white (2-1) -10 ring scoring.

Note: Each color is divided into 2 scoring areas by a thin black line. The arrow shaft must only touch the color or dividing line between scoring zones to score a higher value. The winner will be the archer scoring the highest number of points in the double 900 round. The competitor should be able to keep his/her arrows on the target at 60 yards.

Sports Rules: National Archery Association (N.A.A.) rules apply. All compound bows will need to meet the USA Archery Standards of 60 lbs. or less.

Entry Regulations:

  • Archers must provide their own bows and arrows.
  • Competition will be in five-year increments
  • Men and women compete separately.
