As we mark National Men’s Health Month this June, it’s an ideal time to spotlight men’s significant health challenges and the ways they can enhance their well-being. Men are more reluctant to schedule routine doctor visits compared to women—only 60% make it a point to get an annual check-up, and 40% will delay seeking care until a serious health condition arises. The statistics are sobering: men face a 41% higher mortality rate than women and are more susceptible to major diseases like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Mental health is an equally pressing issue for men, with 31% experiencing depression during their lifetime, yet only about 25% of those with depression seek professional help. Men are not immune to cognitive health concerns and are more likely to suffer a traumatic brain injury than women. During Men’s Health Month help remind the men in your life to take care of their health and emotional well being.
